About this coffee

Washed Geisha from Auromar Estate, grown by Roberto Brenes in the highlands of Chiriquí, Panama.

Washed processing gives Geisha its cleanest, most transparent expression: think jasmine, bright citrus and honey sweetness with a light, tea-like body.

At a glance

  • Estate: Auromar, Chiriquí, Panama
  • Variety: 100% Geisha
  • Process: Washed

Estate recognition

Auromar's washed "Ironman" Geisha from Roberto Brenes scored 94 points on Coffee Review (July 2022, roasted by Dragonfly Coffee Roasters). The score is for that roaster's lot from the same estate.

Choosing a roast

We recommend Light Medium. A lighter roast keeps the floral, citrus and tea-like notes Geisha is prized for. Medium and darker roasts add body and chocolate but quiet those florals.

Roasted to order

We roast your coffee in small batches after you order and pack it in nitrogen-flushed bags with a one-way valve, so it arrives fresh.

Brewing tip

Geisha shines as pour-over. Start with 15 g of coffee to 250 g of water at 92–94 °C and adjust grind to taste.

Brewing guide

Pour-over: about 15 g of coffee to 250 ml of water just off the boil (92–96 °C). Total brew time around 3 minutes.

French press: about 30 g to 500 ml, steep 4 minutes, then press slowly.

Espresso: 18 g in, about 36 g out in 25–30 seconds.

Grind just before brewing for the most aroma.

Storage

Keep beans in the sealed bag or an airtight container, away from light, heat and moisture. Don't refrigerate. For best flavour, brew within 4–6 weeks of the roast date.
